P90X

Thanks to my good friend Shannon Price, I now have a full set of P90X DVD's. Thanks man! I watched the intro and then skimmed through the first workout which is Chest/Back. Looks like a hellacious circuit of push-ups, pull-ups, and rows of various types. I'm going to have to head down to Wal-Mart and pick up a doorway chin-up bar and some more dumbbells. I don't think I have anything heavy enough at home. Due to my shoulders, I won't be able to do any of the wide-grip exercises but I'll just substitute more shoulder width exercises. My plan to get into shape last year just fell by the wayside for various reasons. I feel like there's a clock ticking and I need to get to work. 

After reading some reviews and info on the series, the little dumbbells might be heavy enough. P90X is supposed to be for people in pretty decent shape already. I wouldn't say that I'm a total wreck but I haven't worked out seriously in three years! Ninety days on this program might kill me or at least the first few weeks. We'll see. I'm gonna give it a try and modify it to suit my conditioning if it does prove unmanageable. Just have to remember that I'm 40 now... not 20.
