Between the holidays and work, I've been remiss about updating this blog but a college course has given me impetus to once again post. My name is James Michael Ray but my friends call me Michael. I'm 38 years old and married to a beautiful woman and we have one nearly grown teenage daughter. I'm a senior at Athens State University and I expect to graduate this summer with a Bachelors in Computer Information System.
I've spent my career in Computer Support, most of it working for contractors on Redstone Arsenal and the last year working for PCL Cable in Athens. I went back to college to complete my degree to further my career in this area. Network design and administration particularly interest me and my favorite classes have been in that area.
My hobbies include motorsports journalism, photography, and web design. I've written for most of the major car magazines and done work for a handful of sanctioning bodies. Work, school, and family consume most of my time now so I've given up most of my side work and currently only maintain one website for Pelech Bros Racing.
I hope that this class will actually help with my web design including the navigation and requirements for handicapped viewers, an area that I hadn't considered in the past. I'm also interested in style sheets. While I currently use CSS for fonts, I still use conventional html and tables for the layout.
